Jesse McCartney: new image, new sound
After releasing two Pop/Rock albums in 2004 (Beautiful Soul) and 2006 (Right Where You Want Me), Hollywood Records helped Jesse McCartney change his image. McCartney went from being the "surfer down the block," to the "bad boy dating your daughter."
His debut single "Leavin'" from the album "Departure" gave him his highest single on the Pop charts in the U.S., reaching No. 2. When the video hit media outlets, his image wasn't convincing. Let's face it - too many artists try to become something they're not. (And, half of them portray someone they're not.) This video showed he looked different and that was it.
When McCartney released his second single "It's Over," everything changed. He proved he was serious about the new sound he was creating. The R&B was fresh and as real as the artist singing the song. Though he's considered a Pop artist, once he released "Departure" he became an artist with R&B flair. He let go of his perfect image and changed his popular blonde hair to dark brown.
In summer 2009, he went on tour to open for New Kids on the Block. One of the song's he performed was "It's Over," which became an instant crowd-pleaser.

"Bieber Fever" lasting?
What is "Bieber Fever?" Is it contagious? Does it hurt?
Don't worry, it doesn't sting. But, once the fever is in your system, there's no hiding from it.
Sixteen-year-old Justin Bieber from Canada has taken America by storm with his debut album "My World" featuring the hit singles "One Time" and "One Less Lonely Girl." Fans both young and old have flocked to his music videos and made him a daily "Trending Topic" on Twitter.
What does this young artist have that others don't, and how did he get "It"? The big question is "Will 'It' last?"
Right now he's a force in young Pop/R&B music in the U.S. and Canada. That force is referred to as "Bieber Fever." But what about other artists similar to him?
Jesse McCartney became famous in the pop group "Dream Street," releasing a sugar-filled group album of love songs in 2000. In 2008 he switched his style to an adult R&B sound with his third solo album "Departure." McCartney made the crossover from "Teen Idol" to "adult artist." He made it. What about Bieber? Will the fever continue or will it subside?
March 23, Bieber made his first appearance on BET's show "106 & Park" where he revealed he was single and "swagged out." His self-proclaimed swagged status raised excitement from the hosts and audience. He also performed his leading single "Baby." His swagged status must have been high that day.
Right now, Bieber is everywhere - television appearances, radio interviews - everywhere. This summer he's headlining his first solo tour "2010 Justin Bieber Tour" to promote his sophomore album "My World 2.0."
Whether he becomes a lasting artist is yet to be determined. But, if he keeps going, he'll get there.

Donnie Klang: This time it's forever
"STAY HERE FOREVER"
Review by Christina Chaffin
The title "Starving Artist" fits Donnie Klang well. Who knew a collaboration with good friend, Frankie B., would act as food for the soul? Klang's latest Internet-leaked release (thanks to the singer himself) is not only album quality, but chart worthy. Filled with dance synthesizers, smooth vocals and futurisitc sounds, Klang's proven he's in it to win it. With tracks like "Stay Here Forever," he could easily steal the top spot on the R&B charts. Singer/songwriter Chris Brown was the last artist successfully pushing the European/Pop sound with his 2008 single "Forever." Klang's "Stay Here Forever" not only challenges artists to reinvent their style, but introduces the kind of music he's been wanting to give his fans since he signed to Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy label. If you haven't paid attention to him, wake up and turn your speakers on. "Stay Here Forever" is one of Klang's newest tracks. If you enjoyed Brown's single, you're going to love the 2009-2010 Klang sound.

Tahj sings his way to success
Being a child star is a glamorous life to dream about. Writing your own success into adulthood is another story. For Tahj Mowry, the adjustment is not only successful, but exciting.
Warner Bros., TV show, "Smart Guy," starring Mowry as "TJ Henderson," features a cute, lovable kid ready to take on high school. Mowry came a long way since 1997, when the show first aired. Twelve years later, he's ready to step into the limelight, once again, only this time playing himself; Tahj Mowry, the singer.
"THEY DON'T KNOW" - Review by Christina Chaffin
Tahj Mowry is back on the music map. If his album's anything like his current Myspace ballad, "They Don't Know," he's off to a solid start. Full of mellow adlibs and a soulful falsetto during the refrain, Mowry steps into adulthood, one lyric at a time. Perhaps what's most surprising is despite "They Don't Know" being a smash hit on Myspace, another track will be his debut single. However, if he follows the route he took with "They Don't Know," he should find himself high on the R&B charts. To date, his song ['They Don't Know"] has reached 468,645 plays since first being uploaded on Myspace and is still climbing.

The kid has returned
"Who is this guy? I know I've seen him before!"
"So that's who the new 'Kick It Out' star is; 'TJ Henderson' from 'Smart Guy'!"
More on Tahj to come.
